We find it increasingly difficult to find mechanics with the right knowledge and approach to work on classic cars. Modern cars have computers that tell technicians what to  replace. Classics cars need a detailed understanding of mechanics, fuel systems, electronics, cooling systems, braking systems etc and need a completely different type of mechanic, one who can analyse the symptoms of a sick engine and know what is not working. We have found the best way is to train young people and do this in partnershiop with a local college via an apprenticeship
