Wren customer Chris Jolly has sold the Cooper Monaco that had been campaigned successfully for quite a few years. This has gone to a new owner in Texas where it is being raced to great success so far.
In place of the Cooper Monaco, a Shelby Mustang GT350 has been acquired and in 2023, some testing a two race meetings have allowed us at Wren to get to grips with the car, understand it, set it up and start to make it into a winner.
It has been tested at Donington, raced at Silverstone and SPA. Unfortunately it broke the gearbox at SPA so the final race meeting that was planned at Portimao had to be cancelled.
Over the winter the car will have a full engine and gearbox rebuild, plus lots of other work to make it reliable and fast.
In September 2023, Wren completed the restoration of a sad DB4 series 2 that had had a very hard life in the 60’s and 70’s and then been involved in 2 front end crashes with poor repairs.
The target was to get the car ready for a rally in Ireland in August, and having got the freshly painted bodyshell back from the bodyshop in late July, it was a frantic 2 weeks putting everything back together. We only just made it, with the first real test drive being the trip to the courier who was taking the car to Ireland.
It successfully completed the rally, and came bacl for some small ‘snagging’ issues to be resolved and is now up for sale.

Another triumphant night for Wren Classics Ltd who took home 1st place in the FIA Masters European Historic Pre 66 Sports Car Championship. The award ceremony was at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris and we were the guests of honour!!
Chris Jolly and Steve Farthing drove the Cooper T61M to its limits and despite having great competition from a plethora of McLaren M1B’s and Cooper, still took the win of the Championship.

We look forward with excitement to the 2020 season, with the first race at Portimao on the 16th April, so watch this space!!
An evening of celebrations at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris where Chris Jolly and Steve Farthing pick up the First Place Trophy for the FIA Masters European Historic Pre 66 Sports Car Championship.
